Creating Your Future
Mercy Force has its roots in a not-for-profit research project designed in 1994 and spearheaded by Herbert J. Kellner, Ph.D. He and his team were concerned about the direction our culture was taking. Self-destruction, the abandonment of core values, the disintegration of families, the high percentage of our citizens in jail, the unchecked random violence. For these reasons, the research project “Creating Your Future” was developed. After collecting data in six clearly identified problem areas, Dr. Kellner invited well-known, highly-respected public figures to answer the following six questions:

• How can young people increase their self-esteem?
• How can we reduce the rampant violence in our society?
• How can we bridge the communication gap between the generations?
• How can we regain a more positive view about the future?
• How can we persuade people to take more responsibility?
• How can we reestablish family values in our society?

The response was overwhelming. The following well-respected public figures from business, science, education, entertainment, and religion contributed to the “Creating Your Future” project:

• Dr. David Austin
• Harold Bloomfield, M.D.
• Alan Cohen
• Dr. Stephen R. Covey
• Dr. Stan Dale
• Dr. Ted Dalton, Ed.D.
• Maryam Dubin
• John Goddard
• Dr. Billy Graham

• Steven P. Hadar
• Art Linkletter
• Jeff Olson
• Eric Olesen
• Robert W. Reasoner
• Elizabeth Taylor
• Dottie Walters
• Bettie B. Youngs, Ph.D., Ed.D.
• Zig Ziglar

The Program
A collection of the most valuable responses is now part of the publication “Creating Your Future–Action Guides For A Better Tomorrow.” These guides are now available free of charge on the Mercy Force website. It has been said that those who sit idly by and watch are as responsible for the results as those who perpetrate. Neither of us could accept a passive role in the face of such momentous changes occurring in our society. Something must be done, and someone (many someones) must act.
